But Lagarde is also convinced economic growth cannot be sustainable without social progress, security of workers and environmental protection. Among the different retort technologies, Full Water Immersion and Hot Water Spray, the historical processes, are commonly offered by manufacturers throughout the world : simple to manufacture, those processes are facing the problem of excessive consumption of steam and water, the generation and use of which are harmful for the environment.
